Privacy — AI Carlo

What is saved.

When you ask AI Carlo a question, the server may save your question and, when one is produced, its answer or a held-back draft, with the time and a hash of a random cookie value. The cookie lasts 24 hours. The question record contains no IP address or browser details, but anything you type into a question may identify you.

Your choice.

After the first answer, AI Carlo asks whether Carlo can keep the conversation. If you say yes, Carlo can read it for up to 180 days to improve AI Carlo, then it is deleted. If you say no, the conversation's text is deleted right away. If you don't answer, the session ends after 24 hours and its text is deleted by a daily cleanup within 3 days. Count-only question records (outcome and timing, no text) remain until the 180-day cleanup. You can change a yes to a no at any time while the session lasts.

Abuse protection.

To limit how often anyone can ask, the server keeps rate-limit records containing a keyed hash of your IP address, separate from your questions. They are deleted by a daily cleanup within 3 days.

Who processes your question.

For a question that reaches the model, AI Carlo sends the current question and up to six earlier turns from this browser to Anthropic's Claude API to write the answer. Some questions are declined without a model call.
